My Website

I've been working on this website for a long time, using the Next.js framework and various tutorials from all over the web. I gained a lot of inspiration to make this from Theo at t3.gg and his tutorials on youtube. Although I decided to forgo using his t3 stack in favor of the default Next.js experience, I gained a lot of recommendations from him that I have used in my website, e.g. Drizzle and Clerk.

Resources I used to make the game:

• I use Drizzle for database management (and Neon now that Vercel has started using it).
• Clerk for admin and authorization, I might do more with it in the future or I might drop it since it is really hard to make it respect my browser's dark/light theme.
• WebStorm from JetBrains for my code editing.
• MDX for posts, because I want to make them cool.
• Amazon AWS for static asset hosting (S3 + Cloudfront).
• Tailwind CSS to make my website look at least okay. Using this is amazing compared to vanilla CSS, especially for maintaining proper browser theming and sizing.
• Vercel for web hosting.
• Cloudflare for DDOS protection, DNS and other miscellaneous things. This one is really important for websites.
• I also use Cloudflare for it's Turnstiles to try and prevent my contact form from spam.
• Resend to send emails.

All of the services above have amazing free tiers, in fact the only thing I am currently paying for on this website is the domain name itself. As I don't expect to become popular anytime soon, this will hopefully remain the way it works for a long time yet.
